Dr. Hartzell has over thirty-two years combined business and education experience with several years serving in an administrative, management, or leadership capacity. She is committed to academic excellence and has served as a teacher, mentor, middle school assistant principal, high school assistant principal/ninth grade academy administrator, district program specialist, district director, and assistant superintendent. Dr. Hartzell has also served as an adjunct faculty member for Immaculata University and is a volunteer with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Master of Education in Administration from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, and both her Education Specialist in Leadership and Doctor of Education in Administration from Georgia Southern University.
She has had the pleasure of presenting at nationally recognized conferences including the National School Boards Association Conference in Chicago, the Southern Municipal Leadership Academy through the American Association of School Administrators in New Orleans, the Armstrong Atlantic State Middle Grades Conference, and, the Georgia Southern University Youth-at-Risk Conference in which she also served as a committee and panel member.
Dr. Hartzell was born, raised, and attended the public school system in Erie, Pennsylvania. She is passionate about public education as is honored to serve the students, parents, staff, and community of the Oswayo Valley School District.
