Ms. Emerick joined the OV staff in July of 2021 and she comes to the Oswayo Valley Elementary School with 19 years of teaching and administrative experience.  She graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Special Education, taught for one year in Pennsylvania at Northern Tier Children’s Home before moving to Colorado, where she taught learning support classes for seven years before moving into the administrative field. While in Colorado, Ms. Emerick was a Middle School Principal and the Director of an Intensive Outpatient Program that served school districts along the southern portion of Interstate 25.  Upon moving back to Pennsylvania, she worked at Austin Area School District for two years, Port Allegany School District for six years, and stated she is now proud to serve as Elementary Principal in Oswayo Valley.

Ms. Emerick has a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, a Master of Education in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University, and her administrative course work and licensing through the University of Denver.

She was born and raised in Sinnemahoning, Pennsylvania and graduated from Cameron County High School.  She enjoys reading, walking, and watching her children’s soccer and basketball games.  She and her family also enjoy exploring the local and not so local state parks and swimming areas.  Ms. Emerick had this to say, “I am very excited to begin serving the students, parents, faculty, staff and community of Oswayo Valley School District.”
