It’s been a busy couple of weeks here in the Valley!
Our elementary reading team, the OV Wave Readers, brought home a first place win at the recent Reading Competition in Bradford. OV competed against 9 other teams to bring home the gold! The team was led by advisor and ES teacher, Ms. April Castano.
Congratulations, OV Wave Readers! Keep reading those books!
Eight students were inducted into the National Honor Society in recognition of their outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The students were recognized during an Induction Ceremony led by their advisor, Mrs. Sarah Purdy, and attended by their fellow members, family members, and friends.
Congratulations to our newest members of NHS!
The OV Heart Heroes were at it again! While the Kids Heart Challenge has come to an end, the knowledge of healthier hearts and helping others lives on! We have so much to celebrate this year! Here are some of their accomplishments:
36 students and their families joined OV’s Heart Hero team
18 students and their families learned the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR and how to spot the Signs of Stroke
13 students and their families completed Finn’s Mission
$6,419.00 was raised to SAVE LIVES!
We would like to thank everyone for your support of our Kids Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association! We are so grateful to our students, their families, and our entire school community for prioritizing health and well-being while helping others who have special hearts! We would also like to thank OV Elementary PE Teacher, Miss April Mashensic, for organizing this annual event and for all she does year round to keep our bodies moving and our hearts healthy.
Congratulations, OV Heart Heroes on another successful Kids Heart Challenge!
We are so proud of our students and staff on these outstanding accomplishments! Congratulations again, everyone!
