Winners of the 11th grade Oswayo Valley Shark Tank contest recently traveled to Bloomsburg University with Ms. Cek and Mrs. Metcalf to compete in the annual Husky Dog Pound Competition. To participate, students had to invent an original product, create a prototype, and give a three-minute pitch to a panel of judges. Out of over 200 student teams participating, 11th grade entrepreneurs Sophia Komenda, Rylee Thompson, and Lauren Hedges took 17th place for their invention “The Sandbox” and won $200 in prize money. Junior entrepreneur Eva West took 5th place in the competition with her invention “Tagtrack” and took home $250 in prize money.
