Important Update for High School Families
Starting with the 2026–27 school year, a new Pennsylvania law requires all graduating high school students in public and nonpublic schools to complete one of the following prior to graduation:
1. Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), OR
2. Submit the Pennsylvania FAFSA Completion Opt-Out Form to the school.
Why complete the FAFSA?
The FAFSA determines eligibility for federal, state, and school aid—including grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans. It can help unlock financial support for college, trade school, and post-secondary training programs!
Completing the FAFSA does not obligate a student to attend college or accept financial aid.
If your family chooses not to apply, you simply submit the Opt-Out Form.
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is offering Virtual Financial Aid Nights and in-person events in our surrounding areas to answer questions about the FAFSA and navigating financial aid. Additional details can be found below.
Our School Counselor’s Office is here to guide you every step of the way with information, resources, and hands-on help throughout the year.
